The Extra Virgin Olive Oil with designation of origin ‘Montes de Granada’ is one of the gastronomic insignia of the west of the Granada province, which brings together about 7,000 farmers in the area from different cooperatives and oil mills that produce this precious gold liquid.
It is characterized by its fruity aroma and flavor, which leaves a bitter aftertaste on the palate and whose intensity varies depending on the degree of maturity of the split olive.
Its chromatic variety goes from the greenish tones to the darkest yellow and is one of the main stars in different fairs and gourmet events by its high value in the kitchen.
Schedule: At the end of the month of September, prizes are given to the best AOVE of the denomination of Origin Mounts of Granada, awards that recognize the quality, the flavor and the work of the producers that live off the olive groves.
