If the Tropical Coast of the province of Granada is known by something, it is for its variety of fresh products from the Mediterranean Sea watered by the waters of Sierra Nevada, which gives it special characteristics that we can notice in the quality of the products. A wide range that comes from the fish market and the fishing port of Motril.
From Motril comes the shrimp, caught in the famous Alboran Sea, one of the highest quality fishing areas in Spain. We can identify it by its striking blue roe, a mild flavor and juicy meat. A product so famous that it is included in gourmet presentations for the most sublime palates. Other varieties also come from the waters of Granada, such as mackerel, horse mackerel, Norway lobster and white shrimp, cuttlefish, octopus, snapper, or grouper.
Schedule: Motril celebrates its festival known as La Quisquillá, the fish and seafood festival that takes place in its fish market in October, in which visitors can witness the traditional auction, attend tastings as well as witness show-cooking exhibitions by renowned chefs of the area.
